First of all, read all the manufacturer's instructions for proper operation of the
concrete mixer you're using.
Secondly, lay down a large tarp on a flat, solid surface where you will be working. Position the concrete mixer on the tarp to protect areas from any spilled concrete. Plug the concrete mixer into a nearby three-prong electrical outlet, or into a power equipment extension cord with three-prong outlets.
Thirdly, adjust the angle of the drum concrete mixer by pulling the adjusting lever or arm on the mixer. Push the drum to the angle you want, then reset the lever or arm. Changing the angle allows you to fill and empty the drum more easily.
And then, turn on the power switch. Add your cement and aggregate to the drum as it turns, using a shovel. Place only the tip of the shovel into the mouth of the drum. Add water as needed from your bucket or garden hose. Let the concrete mix thoroughly.
Next, pour the mixed concrete from the drum into your wheelbarrow or other container for transfer to your project site. Don't turn off the
drum concrete mixer while it is full of concrete.
Finally, turn off the concrete mixer when you have removed all the concrete. Adjust the drum so it is angled as far downward as possible.Clean out the drum with your garden hose.
